Mary Ann Gonzalez, D.D.S., Dental Director
Mary Ann Gonzalez received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California at Los Angeles and went on to the University of Southern California for a one year post-graduate program in general practice with an emphasis on patients with special needs.
Mary Ann Gonzalez is the longest serving employee at Consolidated Tribal Health Project, having started at CTHP as a staff dentist in 1987 doing treatment planning such as crown and bridge, root canals and some minor orthodontic services. Mary Ann initiated outreach to local Tribes to do dental screenings, provide oral health education and encourage parents and adults to schedule appointments for routine dental visits. Mary Ann’s leadership and passion for community service have been instrumental in the development and implementation of many special programs and projects over the years that have promoted good oral health care practices as a preventive measure, provided access to care for Native American patients of all ages, treated patients with chronic health conditions and addressed the chronic problem of early childhood caries in young Native patients. She represents the California area as a member of FAC that helps drive change in dental treatment in the Indian Health Services system.
